For automotive artist Juan Carlos Ferrigno Porsche is THE car. He loves the sound and the roar of the car. Just like music at a live concert you can feel it in your stomach and the ground move.
In his work, especially the more abstract car art, he is not painting the car but he is painting the speed. He passionately states: “the details are not important, you have to capture the speed and tell the people this car is going fast, they should feel it.”
A recent work is this Porsche 917. Five panels form together this 4 meter wide artwork.
The dimensions of large paintings allow him to be freer with more action and speed. Creating these large works is more physical. He made this one out of 5 panels because it’s easier to move. When Juan was painting it, he sometimes sat on the floor to paint the bottom of one part. Physically it was more exciting for him because in a way, he was fighting against the painting.
The end result of the Porsche 917 which is up for sale. Contact Juan Carlos Ferrigno on his website and read my interview with him.
